hey guys, sorry to bore but it's the same old view from my room again, but this time it's special because of the rain and haze! this is a blend of 6 RAW images, which really surprised me (and my com) with the massive file size. the sunset was bright RED, but i failed to capture it accurately, and i think that i couldn't have really tried anything else except maybe ND filters or polarizers? pretty glad though, this was the first and only bracketed shot i had time to do before the colour soon vanished behind the thick haze. for those who are into landscapes, seascapes and shooting into the sun and stuff, do try shooting in RAW cos you get a LOT more tonal details (16bit vs 8bit in JPEG) to play around with while editing. so that means you can salvage lots of highlight and shadow detail which is especially useful in HDR :) for this one i tried not to overdo it like how i usually do.

my dear condominium is probably going to be on en-bloc soon. it's the only place i have ever lived, and i really love the place. the wind, sea views and the peace of marine parade are things i wouldn't want to part with. but they say change is the only constant, so i can only look ahead, and cherish memories which i hold dear to my heart. i think this is the best way.

Well I got to go out and test my new lens this yesterday. The Tokina 11-16 f2.8. I have been wanting this lens for a long time and I am totally happy with this purchase. The UWA makes taking these great landscapes totally worth it. I can almost sit right under one tree and capture an entire other tree because of how wide this is. I know this lens has been on the market for awhile and lots of people have used it but it is one you really should have in your bag. I also like this a little better than fisheyes is that there is very little distortion at the wide mark. Now you don't get the field of view (only 104° vs 180° on a 10.5mm fisheye) but it was good enough for me. The other disadvantage of the fisheye that I could see is the lack of a front filter attachment. I was able to use a circular polarizer in these shots and had okay results. Same for an ND once I get one. To me that was worth it in the end. Enjoy the photos.
